Message	.......then around 1980,81 or so the CD deck was available but veryyyyyyyy expensive. Several grand. I have some old Stereo Review mags that have them. I think maybe Panasonic made one of them. Yeah,even the 05 Chevy trucks have Bose tape deck/cd combos. But in the 70s/80s,cassette was the top of the line choice. I think I still have a Realistic "under the dash" bracket mount cassette deck that belonged to my sister somewhere amongst a ton of junk I need to throw out that was made in the mid 70s. Cassettes were actually around in the 60s,but only home and portable use I think.
